Partners

MoDD Africa works hand in hand with national malaria programmes and research institutions so that models answer the questions decision-makers actually face.

Collaborators

Working with the people who decide

Models only matter if they change decisions. That is why MoDD Africa is built around close, working relationships with the institutions responsible for malaria control the national research institutes that host the hubs, and the National Malaria Programmes that set policy and run interventions on the ground.

In Tanzania, the project is coordinated by the Ifakara Health Institute (IHI), which hosts the regional office and the Tanzania hub, and works directly with the country’s National Malaria Programme (NMP). This partnership keeps the modelling grounded in real programme priorities from where and when to target vector control, to how interventions hold up under a changing climate and ensures results are usable where decisions are made.

Across the network, the hubs maintain similar ties with national programmes and research partners in the DRC and Nigeria, reinforced by a regional Community of Practice in vector epidemiology and modelling that connects modellers, researchers and decision-makers as the project grows.
